Report: Huawei Mate 70 Pro is Coming with 5 Rear Camera Lenses!! WHYYYYY!
Recent reports have indicated that the upcoming Huawei Mate 70 Pro may come with five rear camera lenses, which represents a qualitative leap in the field of smartphone photography.
According to the Greek website Tech Maniacs, exclusive photos of the phone have been leaked, showing a Huawei official holding the device, where the rear design of the phone can be seen, which includes five cameras.
The camera setup in smartphones is characterized by the presence of a wide-angle main lens, in addition to an ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto lens for zooming.
With 5 cameras in this device, the functions of the two additional lenses remain unknown, as one of them may be a depth sensor, or monochrome, while the other may be dedicated to macro photography.
Although increasing the number of cameras can provide more data during shooting, this does not necessarily mean improving the quality of the images; the quality depends, largely, on the image processing algorithms used.
However, users will have to wait until the official announcement of the phone to know how this addition will affect the photography experience.
Huawei Mate 70 Pro Specifications
The Huawei Mate 70 Pro is expected to make a big splash when it is officially announced in October, as it is expected to come with the Kirin 9010 processor manufactured using 5nm technology.
This step comes after the company's success last year with the Mate 60 Pro phones with the Kirin 9000S processor built using 7nm technology.
Although many smartphone manufacturers, such as Samsung and TSMC, are currently working on developing processors using 2nm technology, Huawei faces major challenges due to US sanctions that prevent it from accessing advanced semiconductor technologies.
It seems that Huawei and its Chinese manufacturing partner SMIC have found innovative ways to bypass US sanctions, paving the way for the company to manufacture processors with 3-nanometer technology soon.
According to what was published by the "phonearena" website last July, the Kirin 9010 processor is expected to come with 5-nanometer technology manufactured by SMIC, but the level of production using this technology, and its cost, depends on the type of chip cutting machines.
Some expectations indicate that this method will not only be followed with Huawei phone processors, but will also extend to its processors based on the ARM architecture, which will make processors with 3-nanometer manufacturing technology from the Taiwanese chip giant TSMC, more advanced than Huawei processors, as the market is waiting for several processors with the new revolutionary technology (N3E), such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, MediaTek Dimensity 9400, and Apple A18 processor.
Huawei’s achievement of a level of technical sophistication in 5nm chips would be astonishing to all its competitors, especially in the United States, which has tightened the noose on Chinese companies, whether through direct sanctions that prohibit the access of chips to it from American companies, or even other companies operating within the borders of its allies, such as: Samsung, ASML, Nvidia, and others.
The HarmonyOS NEXT operating system may contribute to the expected hype with the arrival of the Huawei Mate 70 Pro, which will support the new system, which will be the first of its kind that does not allow the installation of Android applications in APK format, as it will not be possible to install any applications from outside the Chinese company's App Gallery store.
